DESCRIPTION
Jungian psychology tells us to follow the image, yet with countless synonyms for the word image suggested by the English Language the contemporary ego encounter seems to be an increasingly challenging one.
From the numinosity of the religious icon, to the veneration of portraiture and the semiotics of the camera lens the nature of our relationship to images has evolved through the age of advertising to meet the personas of the pixilated screen.
In this seminar the presenter will ask what challenges the contemporary ego meets in its relationship to images, especially in light of the symbolic resonance considered so necessary for movements in consciousness.
