Fundamentals, Individuation

DESCRIPTION

The theory of psychological types was Jung’s first formulation of the process of individuation in psychological language after completing the Red Book, and his first attempt to articulate how individuation can be approached practically in everyday life and in analytic work. This seminar will build on the seminar given in 2025 on the significance of psychological types in Jung’s work, and their role in the process of individuation. It will give a quick overview of the two attitudes of introversion and extraversion as part of the process of individuation and will focus more deeply on the four functions of consciousness, their role in a person’s psychic economy and in the therapeutic relationship.
